Now in just its second year post-redesign, the 2025 GMC Canyon sees only light updates. A new Nightfall Edition joins the lineup alongside three fresh paint options: Glacier Metallic, Desert Sun, and Rapids Metallic. These new hues replace Desert Sand, Solar Flare, and Dynamic Blue Metallic.
Feature-wise, GMC has reshuffled a few packages: the ProGrade Trailering System now comes standard on Elevation, AT4, and Denali models (giving it a towing capacity of 7,700 lbs), while Elevation and AT4 also gain the Safety Plus Package as standard equipment. Additionally, the Technology Plus Package now sweetens the deal by bundling in a sunroof and a premium Bose audio system.
Significantly pricier than the Chevy with which it shares most parts, the Canyon is for those who want something different from what the bowtie brand offers and don't mind paying for it. With that in mind, $50,000 is still on the pricier side for most, so the Canyon AT4 trim, which offers plenty of standard equipment, is likely a better recommendation.
Sporting features such as four-wheel drive, an 11.3-inch infotainment system, and a 2.0-inch lift, but for much less than the Denali trim, the Canyon AT4 holds its own in the segment while keeping buyer’s wallets well accounted for. Heated front seats that are manually adjustable are also standard on the AT4, and so is the nice-to-have remote start.
