Hitting the roads in 2019, Ram aimed at taking the 3500 to new heights. Coming out of the gate with a few engines to pick from, with these being the 6.4L V8 and the 6.7L Cummins, which comes in two variants.
For the 6.4L, this engine makes 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, good enough to tow 18,150 pounds. If you need a bit more than that, then you'll want the Cummins. This engine makes 370-400 horsepower and 850-1075 lb-ft of torque, depending on which version you find. This engine can tow a monstrous 36,610 pounds, making it able to pull a house. Both of these towing capacities can be found on Ram's website, showing how confident they are. Car and Driver also noted that others would try to "knock it off its perch," highlighting how this sits above the competition.
This generation comes with a few configurations to pick from, with these being the two-door regular cab with a long bed, the four-door crew cab with either a standard bed or a long bed, or a four-door Mega Cab.
Going trim to trim, there are some things to keep in mind. The base trim is the Tradesman, and as the name implies, it comes with some pretty basic features like a black plastic grille and vinyl or cloth seats. If you're looking for something with a bit more flair, this isn't it, but that's what makes it appealing to some.
The Big Horn, also known as the SLT trim, takes those features and throws in some better looks. These take the form of the chrome grille, bumpers, and door handles, as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
A step up from this is the Laramie, and this adds some creature comforts to the workhorse that is the 3500. If you find yourself looking at one, you'll be able to enjoy things like heated and ventilated leather seats, a standard Uconnect 4 8.4-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital cluster display, and a memory feature. This makes the 3500 feel a bit less than the average work truck.
The best trim in the lineup is the Limited. This is because it comes with a 12-inch touchscreen as a standard feature, as well as safety features such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and trailer detection.
With all of these being offered, you're bound to find what you're looking for. No matter if that's something sparse or something loaded, you'll be confident that this model can do everything you need it to.
